David William Duchovny (born August 7, 1960 in New York City) is an American television and film actor most famous for playing the character of FBI agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files TV series. His father was Brooklyn-born Jewish writer Amram Duchovny and his mother is Margaret, a Scottish-born teacher.
